President/CEO
Michael Flood has been the President and Chief Executive Officer of the Los Angeles Regional Food Bank since 2000, leading efforts to reduce food insecurity and improve access to nutritious food for millions of residents in Los Angeles County. Under his leadership, the Food Bank has launched new programs, nutrition initiatives, and public policy efforts, while significantly expanding food distribution—especially during the COVID-19 pandemic, during which operations increased by 125%. In 2020, Michael spearheaded the acquisition of a 256,000-square-foot facility to support pandemic relief and future growth.
With over 30 years in food banking, Michael previously worked with the Redwood Empire Food Bank and the Food Bank of Contra Costa and Solano. He serves on the boards of multiple organizations, including as Chair of Nourish California and Emergency Network Los Angeles, and as Treasurer of the LA Food Policy Council.
A Los Angeles native, Michael holds an MBA and a BA from the College of William and Mary, where he was an All-American soccer player. He is also an active member of the Los Angeles World Affairs Council & Town Hall and the LA5 Rotary Club.
